Born and raised in the frozen suburban hinterlands of America’s upper Midwest, Bill eventually made a mad dash to warmer climes, first to Austin, Texas, then Rio de Janeiro, and finally Bangkok, where he’s been based full-time since 2008. In Thailand, he has worked as a regional coordinator and editor for a European news agency, and as the deputy editor of Bangkok Post themagazine, a luxury lifestyle and travel glossy. He’s also authored a travel guide to Phuket (DK Top 10 Phuket), co-written a contemporary Thai history book (Chronicle of Thailand: Headline News Since 1946), edited several books on street food, traditional floral arts and creative hotel design, and penned numerous travel stories for regional publications. He holds a master’s degree in Southeast Asian Studies from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok.
