Little Guests Glamp In Style at Grand Hyatt Taipei

TAIPEI, Taiwan (May 8, 2018) – This summer, Taipei’s largest luxury hotel is offering young guests the excitement of an authentic outdoor camping experience, but with all the creature comforts of a five-star hotel.

Perfect for little campers, Grand Hyatt Taipei’s new Family Adventure Package is just like regular camping, except temperature-controlled and with room service. Best of all? Housekeeping can help to set it up and take it away in the morning.

Guests between the ages of three and six can delight in an evening of adventure, sleeping in a tent for two equipped with all the camping essentials, including featherbeds and pillows, a battery-operated lantern, plush toys (that children can take home), a picnic table, and a planetarium projector, which brings the twinkling stars of the night sky inside.

While children spend the night exchanging campfire stories and snuggling in the tent, parents will be able to enjoy the privacy of their separate, king-bedded guest room. Grand Hyatt Taipei’s Family Adventure Package is only available for guests staying in one of the hotel’s 893 sq. ft. Grand Executive Suites and is priced at NT$17,300 (US$580) per night (reservations must be made at least three days in advance).

“The best vacations for young travelers, are the ones that leave lasting impressions,” said the general manager of Grand Hyatt Taipei, Jan-Hendrik Meidinger. “Grand Hyatt Taipei’s unique indoor camping experience was designed especially for our younger guests. By bringing the spirit of the great outdoors inside, we’re tapping into children’s imaginations and sense of adventure, ensuring an unforgettable stay for the whole family.”

Mr. Meidinger, who relocated to Taiwan from Hong Kong with his young family last year, said Taipei is an ideal getaway for families. “First-time visitors to Taipei are often surprised what a family-friendly city it is,” he said. “Compared to most big cities in Asia, Taipei has a cool, laid-back vibe, people are friendly, most restaurants are welcoming of children, and the streets are wide and flat, making them easy to navigate with a buggy if you have toddlers.”

During the day, families can take advantage of Grand Hyatt Taipei’s outdoor Oasis Swimming Pool (which is heated during the winter), private yoga classes with a personal instructor, as well as the popular all-day buffet at Café. The restaurant’s wide selection of international cuisines and dedicated dessert bar, featuring a chocolate fountain, is sure to impress even the most well-traveled young jetsetter.

Meanwhile, the hotel’s central location, coupled with the city’s geographic diversity, translates into plenty of fresh-air activities for kids, including hiking Elephant Mountain (the start of the trail is located a short walk from Grand Hyatt Taipei), cycling along Tamsui river, a picnic in Daan Forest Park, and a visit to Taipei zoo just to name a few.

Grand Hyatt Taipei’s Family Adventure Package also includes two Easycards (with a value of NT$100 per card), which can be used to purchase tickets at Taipei Metro, Taipei zoo, or rent a bicycle through the city’s bike sharing service, YouBike.
