The Luxurious Anam Fills Festive Season with Array of Merry Events

CAM RANH, Vietnam (September 4, 2018) – The Anam is pulling out all the stops to usher in Christmas and the New Year with jolly good cheer and experiences ranging from setting up an open-air art studio to lighting up a huge Christmas tree amid a choir performance.

With the season to be merry approaching, the five-star beachfront resort on Cam Ranh peninsula will host exquisite gala dinners, buffets and degustation menus for Christmas and New Year’s Eve and much more from Dec. 23 until Jan. 1.

“With our temperatures hovering at a balmy 25 degrees, we’ll be building sand castles on our stunning beachfront instead of snowmen,” said The Anam’s owner and founder Pham Van Hien. “There’ll be something for everyone with visits by a gift-toting Santa Claus, gingerbread figure decorating and Vietnamese handicraft workshops for the kids and wine tasting, cocktail parties and live music events for the adults.”

The jam-packed program begins with a wine tasting at the Indochine Restaurant from 3pm-5pm on Dec. 23, followed by a Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the resort’s vast lawn overlooking Long Beach from 6pm. Christmas cookies and mulled wine will be served as a Christmas choir performs classic songs.

On Christmas Eve, families will decorate gingerbread figures at Lang Viet Restaurant and Bar from 2pm-3pm, before Santa Claus gives the children presents and wishes them a Merry Christmas at the resort’s Santa Claus Corner from 5pm-7pm.

The Anam’s general manager Herbert Laubichler-Pichler and his management team will host a cocktail party from 5.30-7.30pm. A four-course gala dinner, Vietnamese buffet and seven-course Christmas degustation menu will then be staged at the Indochine Restaurant, Lang Viet Restaurant and Bar and The Colonial respectively. There will also be live music at all three venues.

On Christmas Day the resort will serve a delectable Christmas breakfast with sparkling wine as Santa Claus and the Christmas choir again make their presence felt.  A leisurely Christmas afternoon tea with mulled wine will be on offer at The Colonial and Saigon Bar from 3pm-5pm, as a sand building competition takes place on the property’s stunning stretch of private beach.

From Dec. 26-31, the resort will hold its second annual ‘Garden and Sun Artist in Residence’, during which the resort’s lush gardens will transform into a sprawling open-air art studio.  Guests will be encouraged to watch and talk with talented local artists as they create artwork from Dec. 26-29. The artworks are showcased at an exhibition nightly from Dec. 29 until Dec. 31 between 5pm-7pm at Au Lac Ballroom to a backdrop of traditional Vietnamese music with complimentary drinks and canapes.

In a warm-up to New Year’s Eve, a special wine tasting at the Indochine on Dec. 30 from 3-5pm will provide a sample of the selection of wines to be served during the following night’s celebrations.

On the last day of 2018, the culinary team will prepare cupcakes at Lang Viet Restaurant from 2pm-3pm, before the kids try their hand at Vietnamese handicraft making from 3pm-5pm.

Following a cocktail party hosted by the general manager and his team, guests will indulge a four-course gala dinner, Vietnamese buffet and seven-course degustation menu and then ring in 2019 at a countdown party as the DJs spin house tunes.

Bartenders will prepare freshly squeezed juices to start the year on a healthy note during a New Year’s Day buffet breakfast featuring an array of freshly baked pastries, fresh fruit, and Asian and Western breakfast starters.  In the afternoon, a Vienna New Year’s Day Concert drawing on the vast repertoire of the Johann Strauss family and its contemporaries will be staged at Lang Viet Restaurant and Bar.

From Dec. 24 until Saturday Jan. 5, international DJs will spin the decks from 9pm each night at the Sports Bar.
