Michelin-Star Chef Lands at Metropole Hanoi

HANOI — The Lyon-born chef who conquered Paris and Tokyo is making a guest appearance in Hanoi that may prove to be the capital’s culinary opportunity of the year.

The Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is presenting the cuisine of Michelin-starred chef Christophe Paucod in a one-time Foie Gras Rougie Gala Dinner on the evening of October 24. Promising a taste of the genius that’s made Restuarant Lugdunum a Tokyo sensation, Chef Paucod’s menu will be made available at VND 990,000++ per person.

Raised in Lyon and trained in the Michelin-starred kitchens of French culinary masters Gilles Tournedre and Gerard Salle, Chef Paucod’s flair for cooking took him at a young age to some of the most renowned restaurants in Paris and Normandy.

After rolling up his sleeves in four-star hotels and Michelin-awarded restaurants La Tour d’Argent and Maison Prunier in Paris, in 1998 Chef Paucod relocated to Japan. In Tokyo he taught at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu culinary school and won recognition as chef of restaurant Provence at the Sofitel Toyko.

In 2007 Chef Paucod opened his own Lyonnais bouchon in Tokyo’s historic Kagurazaka district. Lugdunum earned its first star in the Michelin Guide 2011, and has maintained its Michelin status every year since.

On the morning and afternoon of October 23, chefs and food enthusiasts are invited to join foie gras cooking classes at the Metropole, free of charge.

To sign up for the classes or reserve a table at the gala dinner, call +664 3826 6919 or email the Metropole’s Ms. Anh at H3293-fb3@sofitel.com.

The Metropole’s Foie Gras Rougie dinner by Chef Christophe Paucod is presented in partnership with Tan Khoa Wine & Spirits.
