HANOI — Fodor’s, the world’s largest publisher of travel guides, hailed the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi as one of the World’s Best Hotels on the Fodor’s 100 list, made public last Wednesday. The Metropole was the only hotel in Vietnam to be recognized on the list. The 1901-built property was celebrated as an ‘Enduring Classic,’ and kept company with the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok, the Savoy in London, and the Taj Mahal Palace in India among others. Five hundred Fodor’s contributors reviewed more than 5,000 hotels for this year’s list, assessing service, setting, style and amenities. Readers also participated in the survey. Fifteen Fodor’s editors made the final determinations.
