CAM RANH, Vietnam (October 16, 2017) – Lighting up a large Christmas tree, making gingerbread figures, visits by a gift-toting Santa Claus, sand castle building competitions and Christmas choir performances are among an array of festivities ushering in The Anam’s first season to be jolly.
From December 23 until January 1, the luxurious five-star beachfront resort on Cam Ranh, that celebrated its grand opening in April this year, will host events including gala dinners, buffets and degustation menus for Christmas and New Year’s Eve, wine tasting, an artist in residence program and much more.
“At The Anam on balmy Cam Ranh peninsula, where we bask in more than 300 sunny days a year, we won’t be welcoming Jack Frost but we will be celebrating a brilliant inaugural year with everything that sparkles and plenty of merry good cheer,” said The Anam’s general manager Herbert Laubichler-Pichler.
The jam-packed program begins with a wine tasting at the Saigon Bar from 3pm-5pm on December 23, followed by a Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the resort’s vast lawn overlooking the South China Sea from 6pm. Christmas cookies and mulled wine will be served as a Christmas choir performs.
On Christmas Eve, families will get hands on and make gingerbread figures at the Sports Bar from 2pm-3pm, before Santa Claus gives the children presents and wishes them a Merry Christmas at the resort’s Santa Claus Corner from 5pm-7pm.
Laubichler-Pichler and the management team will host a cocktail party from 6.30-7.30pm. A four-course gala dinner, Vietnamese village-style buffet and nine-course Christmas degustation menu with wine pairings will then be staged at the Indochine Restaurant, Hanoi House and Colonial Restaurant respectively. There will also be live music at all three venues.
On Christmas Day The Anam will serve a delectable Christmas breakfast with sparkling wine as Santa Claus and the Christmas choir again make their presence felt. Christmas afternoon tea with mulled wine will be on offer at The Colonial and Saigon Bar from 3pm-5pm, as a sand building competition takes place on The Anam’s stunning stretch of private beach.
From December 26-29, the resort will hold the ‘Garden and Sun Artist in Residence’, during which guests can watch and talk with talented local artists as they create artwork amid the resort’s lush gardens. The artworks will be showcased at an exhibition on December 29 between 5pm-7pm at Au Lac Ballroom with complimentary drinks and canapes.
In a warm-up to New Year’s Eve, a special wine tasting at the Saigon Bar on December 30 from 3-5pm will provide a sample of the selection of wines to be served during the following night’s celebrations.
On the last day of 2017, the culinary team will prepare cupcakes at the Sports Bar from 2pm-3pm, before the kids try their hand at Vietnamese handicraft making from 3pm-5pm.
Following a cocktail party hosted by the general manager and his team, guests will indulge a four-course gala dinner, Vietnamese village-style buffet and nine-course Christmas degustation menu with wine pairings and then ring in 2018 at a countdown party as a DJ spins jazzy house tunes.
Bartenders will prepare freshly squeezed juices to start the year on a healthy note during a New Year’s Day buffet breakfast featuring an array of freshly baked pastries, fresh fruit, and Asian and Western breakfast starters.
For a minimum stay of four nights between December 22 and January 3, the ‘Festive Season at The Anam’ experience includes a four-course Gala dinner, one 90-minute massage per adult, daily breakfast, return airport transfers, a welcome drink upon arrival, daily seasonal fruit platter and flowers, a departure gift, free WiFi and more.
