GHM Sparks New Opportunities for Romance

SINGAPORE — As Valentine’s Day grants romance its annual 24 hours at centre stage, GHM is expanding its offerings for lovers. The luxury hotel management group has broadened its Romance in Style packages and unlocked one of Bali’s most elegant estates as a venue to seal a lifelong commitment, or re-affirm one already made.

Starting this February, Bumi Duadari, the private retreat of noted Indonesian designer and art collector Hendra Hadiprana, has been opened up exclusively to guests of GHM’s Chedi Club Tanah Gajah in Ubud as an intimate setting for a wedding or renewal of vows.

The tranquil property, set amidst the pristine countryside at Ubud, is infused with the designer’s artful take on traditional Balinese style. The main home features abundant natural light with towering windows leading to thatched wooden ceilings, and wonderfully imagined open-air spaces that bridge connections to the natural environment. Colossal stone sculptures depicting women and angels grace the expansive grounds.

Intimate ceremonies and receptions can be held for as many as 40 people within the tropical gardens, by the private pool or at the pavilion overlooking the estate. A Balinese-style marquee is ideal for a cocktail and canapé reception, as is an entertaining area within the home. For smaller wedding parties, of 20 people or less, there is the option of a private hilltop barbecue dinner with sweeping views of the property.

After the celebration, or for couples just looking for a romantic retreat, GHM has cultivated a range of Romance in Style packages in Bali, and elsewhere at properties from Oman to Vietnam.

GHM’s Vietnam resort, The Nam Hai, launched a Valentine’s-inspired deal in January of this year. The special promotion mingles cultural elements from the destination, such as a half-day private tour of Hoi An Ancient Town, with more intimate experiences, such as an Oriental Ritual for two and a sunset hors d’oeuvres and champagne at The Beach Restaurant. At The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah, the romance package features local diversions, such as an early morning trek through verdant rice paddies, followed by a picnic breakfast, and a Bali Ritual spa treatment at The Spa.

“Romance is one of the principal drivers for many holidays,” said Clement Koh, GHM’s Senior Vice President for Sales & Marketing. “It’s important that hotels cater to the needs of couples who want something out of the ordinary. With our Romance in Style packages and our memorable wedding location options, we take the best of what’s on offer in each of our locations and create authentic, romantic escapes that will long be remembered.”
