SINGAPORE — The most recent property to debut under the GHM banner, The Chedi Andermatt, has bested the playing field in all Switzerland, winning favour as the country’s top-rated hotel by reigning European Newspaper of the Year SonntagsZeitung.
The accolade lights another milestone on GHM’s journey as a developer and operator of some of the world’s most exclusive hotels & resorts.
This year alone, the group’s flagship in Vietnam, The Nam Hai Hoi An, made Condé Nast Traveler’s prestigious ‘Gold List’ and won inclusion in Australian Gourmet Traveller’s compendium of ‘Best Luxury Resorts.’
Also in 2014, The Chedi Muscat, GHM’s only property in the Middle East, clinched the No. 7 spot in Condé Nast Traveller’s Readers’ Travel Awards.
The latest honour bestowed upon The Chedi Andermatt caps a decorated first 12 months for the chic, 104-room Alpine escape, which claimed berths on Condé Nast Traveler’s ‘Hot List’ and Travel + Leisure’s ‘It List,’ generally regarded as the top two accolades available to debut hotels.
In addition, it earned placement in Robb Report’s ‘Best of the Best’ issue and a spot in The New York Times’ annual ‘Best Places to Go’ feature. The Chedi Andermatt also won in the ‘Interior Design – Bedrooms & Bathrooms’ category in the European Hotel Design Award 2014.
GHM’s portfolio is set to expand again in the first half of 2015, when the 34-villa Chedi Club Jimbaran opens on a secluded hillside of southern Bali.
Properties in the United Arab Emirates, Maldives and Japan are scheduled to follow from 2016.
