BANGKOK (June 2, 2025) – To mark Bangkok Pride Month and same-sex marriage’s legalisation in Thailand, LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar will host a “PRIDAY” event this Friday replete with a drag queen show, DJ sets, “Velvet Bloom” cocktails and more.
Crowning Thailand’s INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit’s 33rd and 34th floors, LUZ ‘s “PRIDAY: Born This Way” on June 6 from 7pm-12am is dubbed “a fabulous celebration of love, identity and unapologetic self-expression”. Drag queen Meantra Mananya from the iconic Queens of the Stranger Bar will dazzle. DJ Ice will spin the decks.
LUZ’s bartenders will concoct ‘Velvet Bloom’ cocktails, featuring gin, Bianco Vermouth, homemade pandan chamomile cordial, butterfly pea juice, and egg white, on the night as well as for the entirety of June.
With a dress code themed “be yourself”, entry to PRIDAY is free to all with a first come, first served basis for table reservations.
In a show of solidarity with the LBTQ+ community, INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit is this month running a “What does PRiDE mean to you?” social media campaign on its @innsidebangkok Instagram account. To win a delectable set dinner for two at LUZ, participants are encouraged to leave one word that defines pride to them in the comments section of a post about the giveaway, hit the account’s follow button and tag someone they would love to share the prize with. Entries open from now until June 29. The winner will be announced in comments on 30 June at 5pm.
By night the hotel’s 34th floor, featuring a pool bar, transparent infinity pool, and rooftop terrace dotted with outdoor lounges, sunbeds and a compelling contemporary interpretation of Bangkok’s Brahman structure The Giant Swing, all become an upper-floor extension of 33rd floor LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar. The 33rd tapas bar’s design, including its striking angled lines and cabling, pay tribute to another iconic Bangkok landmark, Rama VIII Bridge.
