Balcony has just taken on a new hotel by Adrian Zecha in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. The Azerai Can Tho opened last year on an islet in the Cuu Long (Nine Dragons), as the Vietnamese know the splay of rivers on its southern delta. The resort has a spa on one of the island’s mangrove canals. The central swimming pool is 31 metres long. There are 60 rooms in 30 different structures, as well as a bar and lounge, a café, and a yoga and meditation pavilion. The Mekong Delta, as you may know, is the rice bowl of Vietnam. And Azerai Can Tho is the most compelling property in the entire Delta.
