Metropole Lures Travelers With A Dream

HANOI, Vietnam — Shakespeare never visited the capital of Vietnam, but that doesn’t mean A Midsummer Night’s Dream hasn’t cast a spell over the city. Especially if you’re planning to stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.

The new package at this romantic and charismatic luxury hotel is available for stays from July until 15 September and includes the following:

  • Daily breakfast for two.
  • One-way airport transfer in a luxury limousine.
  • A 60-minute spa treatment for each of two adults sharing a single room.
  • A second room for children under the age of 16 at US $110++ per night, including breakfast.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream requires a minimum two-night stay and is priced at US $225++ per room per night. The hotel is targeting travelers seeking a special getaway for couples and families that live within a short-haul, non-stop from Hanoi, including Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok.

More than three million international travelers visited Hanoi last year, and the city expects to see that figure increase by about 15% this year.

One of Britain’s most established newspapers, The Telegraph, recently singled out Hanoi as the world’s greatest food city. “If it’s good enough for Barack Obama…” the paper wrote, referencing a May visit by the U.S. President, then it’s good enough for pretty much everyone else.

“It’s true that the U.S. president recently put bun cha on the map,” said Franck Lafourcade, the Metropole’s general manager. “But really so much deserves to be on the map, from Hoan Kiem Lake and West Lake to the bustling streets of the Old Quarter. And especially at this time of year.”
