HANOI, Vietnam — An American Jazz Diva is relocating this month from Bangkok to Hanoi where she’ll command the stage six nights a week at Le Club in the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.
The Diva, Kristen Evelyn Rossi, will sing Tuesday through Sunday from 8:45 pm, accompanied by the hotel’s jazz ensemble. Her repertoire includes classics from the Jazz Age, Broadway and other favorites from the burlesque to the cabaret.
After a first trip to Asia in 2006, the New York-born singer relocated to Bangkok six years ago and began building a career as a singer, and as an actress on film, TV and in commercials. She founded an alter ego as the Broadway Babe, a developer of original cabaret and Broadway-style theater for audiences across Southeast Asia.
In the past year, the 29-year-old singer has created Burlesque Betty for the FICO group and Concrete Jungle, an American music revue that she collaborated on with NY Jazz Singer Laura Brunner for the U.S. Embassy Thailand.
She grew up on Long Island in New York and considers herself a connoisseur of all things “vintage.” Her contract at the Metropole runs through April.
