PHU QUOC, Vietnam (Dec. 13, 2017) – Fusion Resort Phu Quoc, the tropical island’s newest spa resort, is moving full steam ahead this month with the launch of three “Wellness Voyages” that promise a journey of mind, body, and soul.
The new three-, five-, and seven-day packages are crafted around health pillars designed to address every aspect of a person’s well-being. The packages cultivate a compelling new middle ground between a full-on wellness retreat and an a la carte holiday.
The first of these pillars, “fusionmind” elevates physical fitness as the first fundamental of well-being. The second “fusionsense” focuses on optimizing health from the inside out, while the last pillar “fusionsoul” helps guests deploy meditation, yoga and massage to enhance health and state-of-mind.
“We’re offering wellness-inspired vacations that don’t necessarily get in the way of your holiday,” said Fusion’s CEO Marco van Aggele. “Guests should feel refreshed and inspired, but not restricted, when they embark on a health-focused journey with us.”
These pillars form the core of the daily agenda, from beginning each day with an awakening yoga class or active fitness session, to enjoying nourishing, flavourful, vitamin-dense cuisine at each meal. These multi-day voyages also include:
- Accommodation in a spacious one- or two-bedroom villa with its own private plunge pool and secluded tropical garden
- Wellness consultation and assessment
- All nutritious meals and drinks (including detox juices, daily sunset smoothies and herbal teas, and exclusive of alcohol)
- Daily wellness sessions including yoga, Tai Chi and meditation
- Daily treatments chosen from Maia Spa’s comprehensive menu of wraps, massages, scrubs, and facials
- Cooking classes and cultural excursions (five and seven-day voyages only)
- Round trip airport transfers
- Priority check-in
Each guest’s schedule is set prior to their arrival. Two spa treatments per day form the daily regimen with the first therapy on everyone’s agenda being the “Pepperation” program, developed in-house and inspired by the island’s most popular export. Participants get hands-on, making their own pepper scrub, to be used in their therapy, while surrounded by the spa’s orchard of 88 pepper trees. Fusion has also developed its own blend of heating black pepper oil used in their “Natural Living Pepper” massage.
Executive Chef Edmond Kwan, who has close to four decades of experience in the culinary industry, has developed the voyage’s nutrition sessions, an integral part of all three programs. The Hong Kong-born, Canada-raised chef’s most recent role, prior to Fusion, was at a detox resort in Koh Samui. There he focused on developing spa cuisine around detox and honed his nutritional knowledge.
Those taking part in the five- and seven-day programs also have the option of local excursions including a brisk bike ride to Cua Can, a traditional fishing village with stilt houses perched on the river, and a visit to Nguyen Trung Truc temple and Ho Quoc Pagoda, the largest Buddhist temple on the island.
Fusion Resort Phu Quoc opened this year on Vietnam’s largest island as the destination’s only all-spa inclusive resort, where treatments are included in the nightly room rate. The 97-pool villa property, which holds prime ocean and river-front real estate in the north of the island, also boasts the largest spa and wellness facility on Phu Quoc — at 11,210 square-meters (121,000 square-feet). The tranquil spot includes 20 treatment rooms surrounding a verdant pepper grove, steam and sauna facilities, an adults-only pool, health club, and indoor and outdoor yoga spaces.
The property is Fusion’s third all-inclusive spa resort in Vietnam, including Fusion Maia Da Nang, which recently made the Top 20 list in Conde Nast Traveller (UK) 2017 Readers’ Choice Awards for best Overseas Hotel Spa, and Fusion Resort Nha Trang.
The “Wellness Voyages” are available year-round with rates for a Garden Villa starting at USD 949 ++ per couple for a two night/three-day package, USD 1,846++ per couple for four nights/five days, and 2,758++ per couple for six nights/seven days.
