Originally from Glasgow in Scotland, Colin headed out hitch-hiklng into the world as a teenager and never looked back. For two decades, he bounced around Europe and South America, but it was the charm of the East that captured his heart, and he finally settled down in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2001. He fell into his dream job, writing guide books for publishers such as Frommers and Fodors for several years until the Internet put print guides out of business. Colin then turned to journalism and covered Thai and Burmese affairs for international media, while contributing to Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure and in-flight magazines in his free time. He naively believes it was his dynamic wordsmith skills that compelled Balcony to bring him on board in 2017.
