Hilton Queenstown expands travel options

QUEENSTOWN, New Zealand — Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa launched a hotel shuttle this month, further increasing access between the property and downtown Queenstown. The new complimentary service runs nine times a day with the first 15-minute drive into town at 7:00am and the last departing the resort at 10:30pm.

A water taxi also runs eight times a day from the pier outside the resort to Queenstown’s Steamer Wharf.  The speedy ten-minute boat ride ranges from NZ$5 one-way for kids under 12 to NZ$20 for an adult return ticket.

“Although the water taxi is popular we wanted to give our guests a convenient, free option for travelling into town,” said general manager, Andrew Nisbet.  “The shuttle runs at times when water transport isn’t available. We offer four morning shuttles to and from town before the water taxi begins at 12:30pm."

The shuttle can accommodate 11 guests per trip and drops passengers on the main thoroughfare of Duke Street, nearby a range of restaurants and bars and just a short walk (and gondola ride) to the Ledge Bungy and Ledge Swing—two popular tourist attractions.

The luxury resort also has plans to further expand its transportation offering in the future, with special shuttles to major events happening within the region on the cards.
